For the Love of Scotch!

Sitting inside your work cubical I am sure being an Independent bottler seems like a wonderful thing. Travel, drink scotch, wear a kilt, and etc. The reality is that work is called work for a reason even if you work for yourself. The difference being one gets paid regardless of the work being done and the other only gets paid when there is work done, sales completed, and money recieved. I have been sick for the past two days to the point of not not being able to breath out my nose or just being alert. I sucked it up and got out of bed at 0330/hrs this morning to get a plane leaving at 0600/hrs from a city 1 1/2 hours away. I have taken two two hour flights to get me to Newark international only to spend another 3 hours on different trains to get me to The Madison Hotel in New Jersey. My apologies to all of those who saw a long hair, beared man, sweating up a store on the plane and train (they probably thought I was a crazy man).

Took a hot bath, relaxed in my room, and soon ready to give everyone their money’s worth of my time, scotch, and enthusiasm. Not because I get a check, but because that is who I am, an Independent bottler who lives off the sweat of my own brow and the enthusiasm of those who enjoy our brands.

Many thanks to all of you who took the time to have a dram as tonight’s tasting was just as important to me as it was to you.

Cheers,
The Wild Scotsman
