5th Day Bladnoch Distillery
I could not post yesterday before leaving Glasgow unfortunaltey, however, all is not lost. I left Glasgow yesterday by Train around 1145/hrs and arrived promptly at 1325/hrs at the Barrhill Station which is about 20min from the distillery. This was a bit of a flash back for me as I had taken the train originally to Barrhill on my first trip to Bladnoch back in 2002. Unlike in 2002, however, I was not worried that anyone would be there to pick me up! Raymond was waiting by the exit door of the train to welcome me to Station.
We got to the Distillery and had a quick lunch at the house and got straight to work. A semi had pulled up with casks from another distillery for storage. There was no easy way to get this job accomplished except to unload them one by one and roll them approx 100 yards to there resting place in the warehouse. It took 5 of us 2 hours to unload around 160 casks. To say we worked up a sweat is like calling a river, wet.
Today, I am up early ready to begin the Mash with John Herries, The Stillman. Gotta go…John just pulled up in his car.
Cheers,
Jeff
