Wild Scotsman Kettering Rotary Club Speaker
by Jeffrey Topping

When: February 10, 2010
Where: Kettering Rotary Club
Presidential Banquet Ctr.
4548 Presidential Way
Kettering, OH 45429

I am pleased to announce that I will be speaking at the Kettering Rotary Club in Kettering, OHIO. Rotary International is the world’s first service club organization, with more than 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs worldwide. Rotary club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio under the motto Service Above Self.

As a past member of Rotary Club 17 in Cincinnati, OH and a Paul Harris Fellow I am honored to share my journey with those who work to make the world a better place.

This will not be a tasting but rather a discussion of how a distant Son of Scotland came back to his families roots after 100 years and returned home with a trade from the past.

Private Label Scotch for the New Year!

Private Label Scotch for the New Year!
by Jeffrey Topping

Many businesses spend hours insuring that their wine lists are second to none. Picking brands based on “quality” and not necessarily “brand image”. What the consumer receives is a one off experience which can only be relived by coming back. Somewhere in American Bar Culture this concept was missed with Spirits. Instead the consumer is given mostly high production brands with little opportunity to experience a more premium hand crafted quality.

At Wild Scotsman we can bring the highest production quality Scotch Malt Whisky to your shelves with your own custom designed label. Imagine your customers delight when you offer them the essence of one (1) cask of Scotch Malt Whisky, bottled at cask strength (barrel proof 100+), Not colored, and not chill filtered. Your customers will have a singular unique drinking experience like that of a vintage unfiltered wine and they cannot buy that at any store, restaurant, or bar but yours. It might even give your customers a greater appreciation for the standard brand by being able to experience a piece of what the Master Blender has on the pallet during brand creation.

Private Label Wings Bottlings

This past December we delivered two single Casks of Scotch Malt Whisky to Wings Restaurant in Bexley, OH. They received a 12 yr and 27yr Single Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky both at Cask Strength. No other bottling of these fine Scotch Whiskies will taste exactly like these. A one off experience, which can only be had at Wings.

Mr. Wing and son

Cheers,

Jeff

Twas the night before Christmas (Scotch Whisky Style)

Twas the night before Christmas (Scotch Whisky Style)
by Jeffrey Toppiong

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the distillery
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The casks were all stacked in the warehouses with care
In the hopes that the Angles would soon have their share.

The stillmen were nestled all snug in there beds,
Whiles visions of Cask strength whisky danced in their heads.
And Mama in her kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just finished our drams for a long winter’s nap.

When out in the still house there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the distillery I flew like a flash,
Tore open the excise locks, and threw open the doors.

The moon on the copper of the old weathered stills
Gave the luster of midday to the warehouse below,
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature angel and eight tiny casks.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be here to give my casks a nip.
More casks than a forest, his casks did roll in, and he whistled and shouted and called them by name.

Now Bourbon! Now Sherry!
Now, Hogeshead and Firkin!
On, Port Pipe! On Puncheon!
On, Pin and Kilderkin!
To the top of the lein Arm!
To the top of the pagoda!
Now Mash Away! Ferment Away!
Distill away all.

Merry Christmas from my family to yours
The Wild Scotsman
